The Garden Room at Norfolk House is located on the garden floor. When this fine Georgian Mansion house was originally built The Below The Stair area was a hive of activity. The Housekeepers Room now our garden room, was the heart of the staff area where the head housekeeper would sleep and work. The lower-ranking staff would be huddled in the attic at the house and the butler would have his sleeping quarters in the Butlers Pantry.
Without the modern-day appliances, the master of the house would require more than 10 staff to ensure Norfolk House would be well maintained, warm and clean. The impressive inglenook fireplace would burn day and night for cooking, drying laundry and warmth.
The Garden Room at Norfolk House Sleeps six guests in three double beds. Painted deep blue with accents of warm yellow and antique dresser and Monte Monkey Lights. A firm favourite with our all-female groups, teenagers and children alike.
The bathroom for this room is located on the same floor just a few steps away.
