We work with a selection of talented private chefs and catering teams who can create everything from relaxed brunches and grazing tables to celebratory dinners and bespoke dining experiences, all within the comfort of your stay.

Many of our guests choose to make dining part of their Norfolk House experience, allowing everyone to relax, spend time together and enjoy beautifully prepared food without the need to travel.

However, if you would like to venture out during your stay, West Yorkshire is home to some fantastic restaurants, pubs and cafés. Below you’ll find a selection of our favourite local recommendations, all within easy reach of Norfolk House.

The Scullery  Located in the original servant’s scullery of this former gentleman’s residence, which has lovingly and opulently been restored to create an ambient eatery. The Scullery is all about a relaxed, everyday drinking and dining experience. Helen & Steve are super hosts and warmly welcome our guests.  Bottomless brunch is available. Please book ahead this is a busy and popular restaurant with limited space so large groups must book ahead (only 10 min walk from the house)

Eric’s European fine dining award-winning restaurant in the pretty village of Lindley, great for afternoon tea, brunch and evening meal they often have fabulous special seasonal events, so be sure to check out the website (2 miles).  

Holmfirth Vineyard Enjoy a hearty Yorkshire breakfast, settle down for a light lunch, indulge in a traditional afternoon tea or simply relax with a glass of wine in wonderful surroundings. Add a tour & tasting of the Vineyard. (9 miles from NH) Hens and Girls groups warmly welcomed. (8 miles) 

The Manor House  A stunning boutique hotel, The Manor House has a dining or drinking destination to suit every style. Edgy design, quality ingredients and traditional elegance collide to present a gastronomic journey to enthral and delight, making it one of the most sought-after places to eat in Yorkshire. Late cellar bar, sundae lunches and afternoon tea and roof terrace bar. (2 miles)

Devour Nestled in the picturesque and historic Holme Valley, a stone’s throw away from the cobbled streets of Holmfirth. Flanked between ancient woodland and the gentle ebb and flow of the river Holme…. lies DEVOUR.  At DEVOUR it’s simple, we celebrate “Old School Italia!” with home-cooked food, Music, Family and Friends where we Sip, Share, Taste and Feast. Arcade Coffee & Food Five star eatery excellent for brunch, lunch, coffee and Sunday roasts (grab one before you head home) Tell Blyth you’re staying at Norfolk House. (1 min walk to Huddersfield train Station)

Northern Tea House Famous for all-day brunches and afternoon teas this small independent cafe is one of Huddersfield’s Finest. Not open in the evenings. 7 days a week. (less than a mile)

Punch Bar and Tapas  A casual, social dining experience, great for a catch up with friends, a family get together – we have a popular kid’s menu or a relaxed date night. The menu combines traditional Spanish with a modern British twist. The produce reflects this with many ingredients imported from Spain such as the classic Bellota Jamon and Jabugitos Chorizo. Harveys  A vibrant & quirky venue with 3 branches in Huddersfield who pride themselves  on serving high-quality wines, handcrafted cocktails, locally sourced ales and specially selected international lagers. Amazing tapas, juicy burgers and mouth-watering kebabs, alongside stone baked pizzas! The town centre branch is a 15 min walk. The Feny bridge branch has The Courtyard Bar which is a unique and private event space for you and up to 50 of your nearest and dearest, served by its own special bar and cocktail menu. Perfect for any parties you have planned. (5 miles)

The Olive Branch The Olive Branch Inn, nestled in the picturesque and historic Colne Valley, is one of Marsden’s finest dining establishments. Burrowed amidst the National Trust Marsden Moor Estate, The Olive Branch boasts views which overlook the peaks and valleys of this heritage village. This rustic pub with fine dining, family-run (9 miles) 

The 3 Acres  Country pub excellent food, beautiful surroundings, award-winning, teepees, private dining available. (9 miles on the way to the house if coming off the M1) currently closed.

Coopers Yard Eat, Drink, Social See Our Menus Coopers Yard is a modern food hall found in the rural market town of Holmfirth, West Yorkshire. Featuring 3 kitchens, 2 bars and 1 cafe. Holmfirth (6 miles)

The Brick Yard is a new events space blending industrial and modern to create a unique space perfectly suited to intimate events, celebrations and parties.We operate as a restaurant Thursday to Sunday and host a series of different menus and pop up nights each month.Thursday to Sunday evenings we host The Brick Yard ‘Bottle Shop’ – a social dining concept with small plates, charcuterie boards, beers, wines and cocktails. Most Saturday lunchtimes we have Bottomless Brunch with a monthly changing seasonal menu and free flowing drinks for 90 minutes. Every Sunday we host our Sunday Lunch Club which has quickly built a cult following, selling out on a weekly basis. Served family style our Sunday lunch is more of a feast featuring locally sourced meats, all the trimmings and delicious desserts.
